Friends For Life Corporation one of the oldest and most comprehensive AIDS service governments in the southern United States has a history that spans 30 years dating back to 1985 As with the majority of public based AIDS service organizations across the nation Friends For Life had a grassroots beginning with services that focused mainly on Caucasian gay men as these were the individuals at the time most affected by HIV/AIDS A group of friends whose loved ones were dying from complication associated with HIV/AIDS formed the Aid To End AIDS Committee in 1985 later to become Friends For Life Friends For Life complex with a separate non profit agency Aloysius Home in 1999 thus knowingly expanding it services to include permanent supportive housing Friends For Life is a leader in the provision
